The Book of the Covenant vs. The Book of the Law?
There’s a growing theory among some Messianics (and a group in Hebrew Roots) that the Book of the Covenant and the Book of the Law are 2 different things; that part of the Torah no longer applies today. It’s time to test the pillars of this theory to see if it stands up to Scripture.

    In 1 Cor 5 Paul is not teaching them how to keep the Passover. He is taking the information they already know about Passover and using it as a comparison to the situation he is writing to them about regarding the man committing sexual immorality. He is saying that a little yeast ruins all the dough. Just like at Passover we get all the leaven out of the house, so too, they must get this man committing sexual immortality out of their spiritual house. Full context always. Test everything.

    17:45 "Nowhere in the text is there any indication that the woman is even pregnant." - It's not describing any particular woman. It's general instruction. So any woman undergoing this procedure could be pregnant, either by her legitimate husband, or through adultery. And it's the scenario of pregnancy through adultery that is being asked about. You seem to be OK if it's God who is the abortion doctor. The criticism is about revealing the hypocrisy of the pro-life position.

    One theory is that it is an edited version of a Greek myth in which Zeus sees Chronos naked and castrates him; another is that his wife was a human-nephalim hybrid, and since the flood was supposed to destroy all hybrids, this caused the Canaanites (their children) to be hybrids, requiring the Hebrews to kill them later.

  • @Dragonfly20233
    @Dragonfly20233 День тому

    I really like 119 ministries but the HS is giving me a lot of pause about this video. Everyone pray and due diligence on testing this. The animal sacrifices didn't offer forgiveness, but temporary cleanliness to draw near to God, in a temporary state. The work of Christ provides both bc we can't be both unclean and clean and in right standing with God at the same time. The blood of Christ and the presence of the HS within us provides both states. Christ gives us forgiveness AND right standing allowing us to come close to God. There are plenty of theologians who agree that Ezk was a foreshadowing of the 1st temple being demolished not a prophetic end times prophecy. Why would God need to clean us up(via animals) to be close to Him when His son came to do that and died for it? The references in the NT made about Paul and the apostles still going to the temple and the synagogue are not specific enough to draw the conclusion that they, themselves, were still making animal sacrifices. Even so the one where Paul was disciplined by James to pay for the men making a vow and to purify himself in doing so does not mean God expected it or desired it. It simply means Paul did it. We know throughout scripture Paul tells us constantly the spirit convicts him but the flesh is weak. Paul is not speaking on behalf of God here. Paul is a man. A sinful one. He is NOT Christ! You must compare Paul's actions and words to Christ and those who walked with Christ. Just like the OT, the Gospels record what did happen and not everything that is recorded is condoned by God. God did not condone David's adultery and murder of Bathsheba's husband! But, it is in scripture none the less. We know David was a man after God's heart and we see the sin. You have to test Paul's actions(and the other's) and compare it to certainty. The only thing certain here is that the blood of Christ is sufficient for the forgiveness of all sins bc everything else mentioned here is up for scrutiny. The people may have acted rebelliously or didn't understand the full impact yet of christ's death and resurrection, the OT prophecies are contested as being already fulfilled or not. Even so, just bc something is ok to do doesn't make it a requirement. It's ok to take communion more than 1 x a year but it doesn't make it necessary. For example- in the OT the gentiles and foreigners "could" participate in the Passover but if they did there were specific requirements on how. They were to be cicumcised and perform it exactly as God commanded but they did not HAVE to.

    The following text was found as a comment on a different video: The ten commandments are God's law which Jesus summed up in two - love God and love your neighbour. Which law God writes on the heart in The New Covenant arrangement. That is the law that is still and always will be in force. And it is not a law that we obey. It is a law we live by the indwelling Spirit of God. Do you know the difference between the two covenants? It is simply this: The Old Covenant was based on the wow, oath and promise of Israel to keep it. They could not even last 40 days before they set up the golden calf. Whereas The new Covenant is God's wow, oath and promise to cause His people to walk in and live by His law by the power of His indwelling Spirit. It is based on better promises - God's promise.

If that's ok then what would be the problem in picking a day(since we don't know) to celebrate the birth of Christ? It's not condoned nor condemned.

    I really have a sincere question. I understand the problem with symbols but I also just finished reading in 1 Kings and how Jerohobim altered the Lord's feasts and alters etc... to his own time and in his own way rather than following God's design. He was condemned for this. Aren't we doing this with keeping the feasts and festivals since we can't do them exactly as God prescribed ? We therefor do them "as best we can" leaving out portions that can no longer be done and changing the way He told us to do them. I'm just curious if there has been a teaching addressing setting up the biblical feasts on man's timeline and way?

    I have misunderstood Paul for many years and I am still on the fence about him but coming to a better peace about him since watching your videos. However, I never once questioned my Messiah- only Paul's authority was in question which I still think is a tad shady. I don't need Paul explaining Jesus to me for me to believe. The actual apostle's testimony was never confusing in any way and beside that the words of Christ are enough. I have no problem if Paul ends up being a good guy but let's just say I won't fall off my chair if I get to heaven and find out that Paul is the guy in Rev 2. Paul is irrelevant if you actually believe in Jesus and His 12 actual apostles. Paul is only necessary if you don't want the institution of modern church Christianity to crumble. Paul may be misunderstood. I suppose it's possible, but the bottom line is that misunderstood Paul is the modern church's messiah not Christ. They love their Paul so much they won't even look at Christ's words to call into question their confusion. Christ's words weren't confusing until Paul got a hold of them.

    Buddy do we live under the law still? Or are we under grace? You are teaching that we are still under the law. Has Christ got rid of the law? No. But has he fulfilled the law? Yes he has. So now we are under grace not under the law. If you say we must not eat certain foods because Leviticus says so, then I suppose we must still do animal sacrifices to atone for our sins as well. Or we must still stone those who commit adultery because the law of Moses teaches this.

    Based on 1Corinthians all women claimed to be serving God praying and prophesying with her head not hair uncovered is wrong. And head covering is part of submission to her head, and if she do not have a head like a husband she still need to honour Jesus, the wisdom in it is if she don't want to cover her head should may as well shave her head so she appears as a man which she still have to cover her head not her hair.

    • @robertmiller812
      @robertmiller812 День тому

      I would like to add my two cents here after reading this discussion. First of all I believe we should follow the teaching in 1st Corinthians 11. The main problem here is the misunderstanding of 1st Corinthians 11 altogether. I also have made an intense study of this passage, and the obvious conclusion is that Paul was referring to long hair being the covering. The first thing one should take notice is the lack of wording required to conclude that a veil is being referred to here. The word veil or cloth is not in the text if we read from the King James version. If you read from the “modern” versions then you might get that view but not from the Textus Receptus. I would like for you to reread the verses that allegedly refer to a veil which is 4-7 and 13. In those verses we read the words, cover, uncovered and not covered. According to scholars these are used as adverbs. Like if you were to say I am going to cover my feet. No one should be thinking of a veil just the action of being covered. What is missing in these verses are nouns that would prove the idea of veils. Since we should not be assuming anything we should be asking the question what is the thing that a woman should be covered WITH based on the passage ALONE? So if you do the math you would find that Paul refers to hair directly 3 times and then indirectly 4 times with the words shorn and shaven. So if there is no noun for the word veil or cloth yet there are 7 instances of idea of hair, then what are we to conclude? That Paul is referring to hair whether it be short or long. But the counterargument would be that Paul is allegedly telling women to put something on. But that is not exactly true it says a woman should be covered, but he is referring to long hair based on the surrounding verses. But what about that a woman ought to be covered when praying or prophesying? The assumption is a that Paul was referring to only two instances which is not true he was merely giving us two examples. This also applies to men about being uncovered. Evidence of this is written in the forgoing verses. Paul writes that men ought not to cover because he is the image and glory of God. And then Paul goes into how woman was made for man and is the glory of the man. So it would seem that man shouldn’t be covered at any time if he is the glory and image of God. Paul also mentions that the mere observation of a praying woman should make us note how uncomely (unappealing in appearance) for a woman to be uncovered. Paul states this in a way that it should be obvious to anyone that she looks off in verse 13. He does this again in verse 14 about how shameful it looks if a man has long hair. He says it this way… Judge in yourselves: is it comely that a woman pray unto God uncovered? Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him? KJV So this judgement that we should make is exclusively based on observation of an “uncovered” woman as well as a long haired man. Two consecutive questions both appealing to something innate or within us. Paul is in essence saying that it should be obvious to see that something is wrong or off. So how is it that for the women we are somehow to know within us that a woman would be unappealing in appearance without a manufactured veil? That does not seem logical especially since the word veil is never mentioned. Unless that is not what Paul is meaning but rather that if the woman was not covered in long hair (meaning her hair is short) doing something holy or godly LIKE praying or prophesying. I think most people can relate that looking at a woman with short hair does have an unappealing appearance. It naturally provokes head turns. And if there was any question Paul flat out states what he was talking about in verse 15. So the facts are that there no nouns to use as evidence of a veil. There is evidence that Paul was using praying and prophesying as examples. Paul appeals to nature and something innate within us to judge that being uncovered or covered (meaning having short hair or long hair) should be obvious to all. So this cannot make sense with a manufactured veil.

    Acts 21:25 is an addition to the text. We know this from the facts #1 it's not in older manuscripts #2 it's not ever recognized as being a verse from any other outside writings such as the church fathers, etc. #3 the verse itself literally says "that they do no such things other than" or "they do no such things save ONLY" (something along those lines) which isn't in the original statement from the Jerusalem council. From these facts it's easy to see Acts 21:25 is an obvious addition.

    Since posting my comment over three years ago, and more intense study into the Hebrew words, I have a new understanding of the idea of kindling a fire. First, context matters. This command was part of the command to avoid any work on the sabbath. Because fire was used for many occupations, the prohibition of building a fire in their dwellings was probably to keep people from doing work that required a fire. Interestingly, the Syriac equivalent of the Hebrew word baar also has the idea of gathering or gleaning. This makes sense why the man who was gathering sticks in Numbers on Shabbat was stoned. It would have required work to go out and gather and chop firewood. Yah wanted his people to have a day of rest. That being said, and now understanding that the sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath (Yeshua’s words), I believe it was permissible to have fire to keep warm, and to light one’s home. But the firewood should be gathered and stacked the day before Shabbat so as to avoid the hard work of going out to find and chop the wood. (The gathering of the manna the day before is somewhat related). I’m thankful to all the brethren who commented on my post, and who inspired me to re-examine my position.

      You kept seeking and it was revealed to you. Matt 25:29 , Yeshua says to him who possesses, more will e given. We have to take possession of His gifts, sadly . there are those who would rather have spent that energy you spent to dig a bit more into this matter, to argue and slander. God bless you, and Shalom to you. Hope to talk to you frequently in the comments

    The distinction between the Ten Commandments and the other laws of Moses lies in their origin, purpose, and nature: 1. **Origin**: - **Ten Commandments**: Also known as the Decalogue, these were given directly by God to Moses on Mount Sinai and were inscribed on two stone tablets (Exodus 20:1-17; Deuteronomy 5:4-21). - **Other Laws of Moses**: These include the ceremonial, civil, and moral laws that God gave to the Israelites through Moses, detailed primarily in the books of Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. 2. **Purpose**: - **Ten Commandments**: These are fundamental moral principles intended to guide the ethical and spiritual conduct of all people. They are seen as universal and timeless. - **Other Laws of Moses**: These laws include detailed regulations for worship (ceremonial laws), guidelines for social justice and community living (civil laws), and additional moral directives. They were specifically given to the nation of Israel to govern their religious, social, and political life. 3. **Nature**: - **Ten Commandments**: These commandments are concise and comprehensive, addressing broad principles of morality and worship. - **Other Laws of Moses**: These laws are more detailed and specific, covering a wide range of topics from dietary restrictions to procedures for sacrifices and festivals. 4. **Inscription**: - **Ten Commandments**: Written by the finger of God on stone tablets, symbolizing their permanence and divine authority (Exodus 31:18; Deuteronomy 9:10). - **Other Laws of Moses**: Written by Moses in a book (the Torah), indicating their role in guiding the daily life and worship of the Israelites (Deuteronomy 31:9). 5. **Significance in Christianity**: - **Ten Commandments**: Often viewed by Christians as still relevant and applicable, forming a basis for Christian ethics. - **Other Laws of Moses**: Many Christians believe that the ceremonial and civil laws were fulfilled by Jesus Christ and are no longer binding on Christians (Colossians 2:14-17; Hebrews 10:1-10). This distinction highlights the unique role of the Ten Commandments as a foundational moral code, while the other laws of Moses served to govern the specific covenant relationship between God and the nation of Israel.

    The Torah is applicable only to those inside Israel. There is only one Law/Torah for both the native and the foreigner who lives within. You must be an Israelite or Assimilated/ Grafted Israelite to observe the Torah. You observe the Torah because you love the Father and His Messiah. Following the Torah is a consequence of being saved. We, the saved, are not under the Law/Torah but are under grace. We show our gratitude and love for the Father and His Messiah by observing the Torah. See the Parable of the Two Debtors. This is how Jeremiah 31:33 is accomplished. "If you love me obey my commandments." Lawlessness is Torahlessness.

      Christianity is the Powerful Delusion, the Practitioner of Lawlessness/Torahlessness, led by the Man of Lawlessness/Torahlessness. Read the letters of Ignatius to the Magnesians, the Constantine Creed, etc. Know how the word "Judaizer" came to be.
